You dont have to be crazy to join...but c`mon, its fun!

This fortnight's theme is MAD SCIENCE!

The time limit is 2 weeks... so start as soon as you get this gbook entry ^^

Category: Anime(Or Game) wallpapers (or vectors)

Mad Science: definition AS follows

1. The line for this contest is 'The line between insanity and genius is measured only by success.'. This time, think of it more as inspiration, than an actual guideline.

2. When walling, just try to capture a feeling. Really make the wall`s point come across without having to tell anyone anything. Whatever it is you`re going for, make it come alive.

This time, no real limitations on scans or categories. Go nuts!

HAVE FUN!

Rules:

1. Tutorials are allowed to help you, but bear in mind that it is very obvious when you use tutorials
2. Vectors are allowed.
3. Make sure your wallpaper is at least 1280x960 pixels in size! Other resolutions 1280x1024 and 1600x1200. Believe me, they are fun to make. And people love em more. The bigger the better. Now you know that size matters, at least in wallpapers.

Judging criteria:

1. Technicality/ balance of overall composition
2. Colour combination
3. Originality/ artistic expression (message being carried out)
4. Overall feel/ reception of audience
5. Relevance to the theme/ theme sentence

Judging rules:

1. Number of layers is not taken into account for judging
2. Amount of time taken to make it is not considered
3. Member's level number, reputation or experience not taken into account
4. Number of favourites, comments, downloads and views of entry not taken into account
5. Accuracy of the application of PS filters not taken in account to prevent members from using tutorials
6. Effort is considerable

Members:

1. Also vote on the wallpapers and lend out their comments.
2. There will be a "member voted" wall.
3. For votes, you have three votes 1, 2 and 3. First being the one you like the most, down to the third. You do NOT vote for yourself.
4. Members will favourite the wallpapers they LIKE THE most. This doesn't mean the one you put down first or second etc. but do make an effort to support the wall you feel deserved a fave.
5. Will try to not seek external help, and if they cannot meet the deadline, contact in advance.

Extra info:

1. From the second time onwards, there'll be a new winner called "most improved" that everyone will vote for.
2. Obviously the more entries we receive, the more fun this will be
3. Please try to make an effort and respond to these competition notices. Please POST IN THE group guestbook whether OR NOT YOU WISH TO participate
4. When you have finished your wallpaper, you post a link in the group guestbook, and in the gallery description, write that it is for the UnderAppreciated Group competition so we will know where to find it. Preferably paste in a link to the group page so that other members can see other works.
Preferably upload your wallpaper when it is close to your deadline to prevent other members seeing your ideas. If MT is down, do not panic. We will know you were late because of that.
5. A day after the deadline, you are most likely to receive a guestbook entry like this with the new theme and entries. Winning entries and other entries will be on the page for one week before moving onto another separate page to clear up the space.
6. Even if you have not submitted an entry, you may still vote
7. Interested members who see this notice and are interested in judging, please contact us
8. Judges' decision should be final. Apologies if you feel you have been cheated etc. but such are the facts of life- there is always next time. (>_<)
9. Please do not give out offensive or ridiculously mean comments. This competition is done in good spirit, and is only just like a game to see what creative minds think of smiley

Also keep in mind the amount of submissions you have in your gallery, which is also a factor in the latency of our response. i noticed your application for The UnderAppreciated Group ^_^ Usually there is only one admin who looks at the applications but I think he might be a little busy so here I am

Soon we'll go through your gallery and have a look... but at the moment I'm having trouble downloading stuff so please bear with me @_@

Just to talk a bit about the group and what we do: when you make a new wallpaper, you just drop a link into the group guestbook and when someone has free time, they come around to look at it Also, you may have noticed that there is a competition every two weeks. You'll get a guestbook entry with the new theme, and if you don't understand the theme or have any questions, feel free to ask me or leave a post in the group guestbook- I'm usually around and I check it often ^_^

If you need any help with making wallpapers, you can definitely ask me or someone else in the group- we have some tutorials on the group page as well

Any questions or feel like making any comments, please feel welcome to say them, because we are a group who really listens to our members
